Come and enjoy an Irish Cello workshop to learn fast and slow tunes, and develop an authentic stylistic approach to Irish music for the cello.

The workshop will cover how to play Slides and Polkas in a traditional Irish style, and how to prepare a ‘set’ of tunes. We will look at ornamentation, bowing techniques, and a rhythmic approach to Irish music, and will focus on the relaxed and loose arm needed for playing traditional music.

We will work on a beautiful slow Irish Air and learn how to create your own arrangement with embellishments, variation, drones, experimental techniques and rhythmic ideas.

When you have paid for your place on the workshop you will receive free copies of Trad on Cello, Easy Irish Cello, Irish Airs for Solo Cello plus solo reels Tam Lin and College Groves. (value of €89!)

Places limited so contact me to reserve your place and I will give you a link with payment details.
